Job description
The Scheduler is a direct-hire position working for HGA at the HGA office in Ruston or Baton Rouge, LA or The Woodlands, TX.

The focus of the Scheduler position will be the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules and reporting on project progress. This role involves reviewing, integrating, and communicating recommendations regarding schedules to aid in keeping the project on track. Additional responsibilities will include routine and special project work that involves the retrieval, preparation, processing, manipulation and management of data. The ability to adapt to frequent and rapid change, and to utilize skill and judgment to solve problems is required.



SCHEDULER DUTIES
  • Develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing alternate methods for corrective action.
  • Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
  • Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
  • Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
  • Ensure resources are aligned to schedule activities, analyze loading requirements and required resource levels and check for constraints
  • Implement physical progress measurement and reporting tools to ensure earned value methodology is used to monitor and validate progress and performance
  • Provide regular progress updates, highlighting variances from the baseline; recommend corrective actions that mitigate potential delays or progress slippage
  • Utilize tools and software to report and analyze cost performance
  • Train and support designated team members on scheduling tasks as needed
SCHEDULER REQUIREMENTS
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management from an accredited college or university is needed. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of project controls work experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Project Controls function handling scheduling in an Engineering Consulting company is required.
  • Previous experience with Primavera P-6 is required.
  • Candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Baton Rouge, Shreveport or Ruston, LA, or The Woodlands, TX.
