Objectives:

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for determining an effective market strategy for products and services sold at Action Gypsum Supply. This includes staying abreast of market industry patterns and trends, cost of materials, price increases from suppliers, pricing set by competitors as well as having a deep understanding of our customer’s needs and business relationship. Based on these factors and other various elements that impact costs, the Sales Coordinator must continue to evaluate the company’s position in relation to its market standards and policies. This position partners closely with Coordinating Supervisor, Outside Sales Representatives, Purchasing Managers and Branch Manager for a team approach not only to manage the market strategy for the company and prepare pricing quotes for customer proposals, but to also provide additional support for customers in the assigned territory.

Essential Functions:

· Process sales orders for residential and commercial building products received by phone or electronic mail.

· Build long-term customer relationships by providing price quotations, taking material orders, and ensuring orders are properly placed and delivered on time

· Learn product features and associated customer benefits for major product categories and be conversant on application of those products in residential and commercial applications

· Educate customers on new products and suggest relevant products to meet customer requirements for their projects

· Follow up on customer inquiries

· Assist Outside Sales Representatives with day-to-day account management

· Order and follow up on special order materials

· Help with inventory and inventory cycles when location requires it

· Negotiate price contracts with vendors

· Maintain and regularly update the company’s pricing history database

· Deep understanding of products sold at Action Gypsum Supply

· Ability to manage relationships with vendors, customers, employees and other leaders of the organization to impart that expertise and serve as a subject matter expert

· Strong mathematical and analytical skills; understanding the impact of pricing on profit margins

· Ability to analyze market trends and various factors that impact cost to set product pricing

· Ability to use independent judgement using concrete statistics when making pricing determinations

· Understand contract negotiations and bids as well as proposal development

· Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other professional software and programs as necessary

· Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work

· Ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and consistency

· Commitment to fulfilling the mission of Action Gypsum Supply

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute

· 2+ years’ experience in a construction related or building supply industry

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level; bilingual a plus

· Customer Service experience

· Project management experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
