Reece Albert is a family owned heavy construction company providing construction services for site work, roadway and highway construction, underground utility, concrete and bridge structure, and hot mix paving projects throughout West Texas. CSA Materials, Inc. provides aggregate and asphalt construction materials for Texas’ infrastructure and building needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Safety Coordinator provides support for all aspects of the Safety function including site inspections, accident response and investigation, training, and compliance issues while promoting a positive safety culture and knowledge of job site safety requirements. This position will work closely with the Safety Director and other management to support both Reece Albert, Inc. and CSA Materials, Inc. in the Permian area on a daily basis as well as locations from Alpine to San Antonio from time to time.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Provides consistent interpretation and implementation of Company policies, programs, and procedures
• Collaborate with Safety Director and other management to support organizational objectives and strategy
• Champion the Company values and culture
• Ensure an environment of excellence in customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions in a timely manner
• Perform new hire training in the areas of general safety, OSHA, or MSHA
• Communicate with HR and management regarding new hires, workplace injuries, concerns, incidents, etc. as appropriate
• Coordinate traffic control audits
• Conduct worksite inspections
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures and legal requirements
• Respond to accidents and conduct investigations
• Handle complaints from motorists and the public
• Maintain accurate data in safety software
• Scan documents into appropriate electronic files
• Assist with or prepare correspondence as requested
• Adhere to OSHA, MSHA, safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
• Keep up to date with requirements and regulatory issues
• Obtain certifications as required
• Perform related duties as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Working understanding of safety principles, practices and procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, safety systems, and related software
• Knowledge of MSHA guidelines is preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least two years of experience in safety is preferred
• High School diploma, Bachelors degree is preferred
• Spanish speaking is required
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to respond to incidents 24/7 and travel regionally with little to no notice

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Work is performed both in an office and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Exposure to water, mud, dust, and loud noise
• Works in both an office setting and outdoors as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform the following:

• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time
• Walk and climb on uneven surfaces
• View a computer terminal for extended periods of time
• Stoop, kneel, reach, stand, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
• Repetitive finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, or neck movement
