Overview:

Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, the Retail Coordinator will be responsible for directing and expanding the retail and merchandising business of Ripken Pigeon Forge. The Retail Coordinator will assist with setting the business direction for our retail opportunities, which includes driving strategic business initiatives as well as meeting the demands of the daily operation. Assist with sales, operations, inventory management, and loss prevention.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a profitable customer-focused merchandise and retail strategy while enhancing the customer experience and the corporate mission of growing the game of baseball
  • Assist the Retail & Merchandising Manager with purchase of merchandise by making proper selections and providing historical data
  • Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns and all other costs to maximize sales and profitability of the company
  • Direct merchandise presentation, space allotment and point of purchase information for all retail operations
  • Maintain qualified seasonal retail staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training staff.
  • Work cross-functionally with all organizational teams to achieve financial goals
  • Assist the AGM with preparing department budget and operate under budgetary guidelines
  • Effectively schedule and direct the workload of the retail staff , including: work schedules, posting the schedules weekly for the staff and assure staff performs tasks at an acceptable level
  • Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements
  • Provide AGM and Retail & Merchandising Manager with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely basis
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by AGM


Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3+ years supervisory experience in a hospitality setting
  • High School Diploma
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, evenings, and weekends depending on the needs of the business
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Positive and effective customer service skills
  • Strong sense of urgency


Preferred:

  • 3+ years experience in a mix of retail and merchandising operations
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Experience in sports or licensing related businesses
  • Track record of growing sales and margins
