Unique by design, Med Emporium is an accredited clinical respiratory provider specializing in Ventilator Therapy Services through the southeast US. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for patients with neuromuscular disorders, spinal cord injuries, chronic respiratory diseases and other conditions that cause restricted breathing.

General: The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for general education and clinical respiratory assessment of all Med Emporium patients that receive respiratory equipment and/or services. The Respiratory Care Practitioner will be responsible for all patients in Atlanta and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Delivers respiratory equipment and ensures that it is set according to physician prescription.

2. Educates the patient, parents and/or caregivers on use and care of the equipment and documents the education appropriately.

3. Assesses the appropriateness of the equipment/settings for the patient given their particular needs and clinical status.

4. Reports clinical status to the ordering physician and establishes plan of care for the patient.

5. Stays current with new equipment and supplies to be familiar with the latest improved devices available.

6. Maintains a working knowledge of all software in use and uses it as directed by management.

7. Performs on-going clinical assessments of patients assigned to them according to plans of care and reports findings as needed to management and patient’s physician.

8. Maintains current state licensure.

9. Coordinates delivery of supplies to patients with warehouse manager and facilitates preventive maintenance of equipment that requires it.

10. Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program. Minimum of the following licensed credential(s).

RRT preferred.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Two years’ experience in hospital-based care and/or home health services including the use of home ventilators.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of State Medicaid, and private insurance requirements and procedures are beneficial.
  • Ability to develop, organize, and coordinate scheduling of patient visits and necessary paperwork flow.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing and to work effectively with a wide range of people, including referral sources, parents/caregivers, service agencies, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to travel during week with occasional overnight possibility (company car provided).
  • Must be currently licensed with the Respiratory Care Board in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Virginia as applicable and any other states indicated as a requirement as an employee. If not licensed in applicable states, employee needs to apply for license or licenses upon hire.

Physical Requirement:

In an 8-hour day the employee lifts/carries 30 LBS frequently.

In an 8-hour day the employee stands/walks 2 hours.

In an 8-hour day the employee sits 6 hours.

In an 8-hour day the employee drives a car/truck up to 2-4 hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
