Summary

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Morales-Hernandez Lab in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the School of Dentistry to study the regulatory mechanisms controlling hematopoietic stem cell (HSCs) function during normal and pathologic hematopoiesis. You will have the opportunity to develop new exciting projects involving the refinement of the functional heterogeneity in the HSC pool, transcriptional dysregulation of hematopoietic progenitors and its impact in bone marrow transplantation and hematological disorders. In this position, you will have a chance to lead your projects and mature into a fully independent researcher. The successful candidate will gain an experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, mouse models and stem cell biology. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with strong research capabilities and ability to design and carry out experiments with a high level of independence. This individual will also assist the PI in training new lab members and writing research manuscripts and documents.

The ideal candidate should have a recent PhD or equivalent degree with a background in cell and molecular biology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals is desired. Research experience in hematopoiesis is desired, but not required.
