Job Description:
The Regional Director of School Based Behavioral Health Services (RDSBBHS) is responsible for providing over-all leadership and supervision of the Behavioral Health provider staff and of Behavioral Health care clinical operations within their assigned region. The RDSBHS works as an advocate for the school based Behavioral Health providers and a liaison between providers, the School Based and CHC leadership teams, in addition to the school/district administrative teams. The Regional Director of School Based Behavioral Health Services provides consultation and guidance to the Director of School Based Services with regard to all clinical issues, and works collaboratively with other CHC Behavioral Health Directors under the direction of CHC’s Chief Behavioral Health Officer.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews clinical outcome metrics for the department and collaborates with the CHC on-site Behavioral Health Directors and Chief Behavioral Health Officer to identify and achieve clinical goals.
  • Works with the CHC Behavioral Health leadership and School Based leadership team in development of site-specific strategic plans for new services, programs and modifications of existing services.
  • Active member of the CHC Behavioral Health leadership team that meets monthly with the Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO) to discuss both agency-wide and department-specific issues.
  • Lead support for the recruitment and onboarding of new hires, including creating required training/shadowing schedules and introductory communications to team members welcoming the new hire.
  • Works with staff to achieve high quality of care including and enforcing staff accountability for adhering to all CHC policies and procedures and compliance requirements that may involve intervention with Human Resources as needed.
  • Completes references or other needed documents for staff member’s re-credentialing.
  • Maintains a full case load with minor adjustment but still meets school/student needs and expectations.
  • Collaborates with SBHC Program Managers for completion of licensing requirements for new scope/locations each year.
  • Clinical orientation of new clinicians to the site (or assign a designee).
  • Regularly meets with clinical staff members on team to provide supervision and support where needed.

  • Reviews timesheets and approves time off requests for assigned staff.
  • Ensures contracted school based employees are meeting their contractual obligation of 195 days.
  • Coordinates and launches on-site clinical quality improvement activities including the support of patient and parent stakeholder satisfaction surveys, as well as peer reviews.
  • Leads and monitors expected productivity for team and works to make improvements where necessary.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Completes 90 day probationary review and six-month evaluations for new clinicians.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required Skills and Education
  • Ph.D./Psy.D, LCSW, LPC or LMFT degree
  • At least 1 year of experience within SBHC
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Currently licensed in the State of Connecticut
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Combination of sustained periods of sitting at keyboard, walking and stair climbing
  • Minimal lifting and carrying activities
