The Project Manager role is a challenging, exciting opportunity for you to manage full lifecycle public safety cloud & hardware implementations for our growing business unit. In this role you will manage multiple public safety projects and be responsible for the successful delivery of those projects. You will work with leaders in the Oracle Local Government Business Unit, Product, Development and Support organizations to focus on delivering a world-class implementation of Oracle Public Safety software and products. Who You Are:

The Project Manager role is a challenging, exciting opportunity for you to manage full lifecycle public safety cloud & hardware implementations for our growing business unit. In this role you will manage multiple public safety projects and be responsible for the successful delivery of those projects. You will work with leaders in the Oracle Local Government Business Unit, Product, Development and Support organizations to focus on delivering a world-class implementation of Oracle Public Safety software and products.

In this role you will demonstrate your ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage projects of increasing complexity. An ideal candidate will have strong influencing and negotiation skills to successfully partner with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. This role must identify potential issues and risks early in an implementation to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans. This team member will help develop implementation processes and best practices as we continue to grow as a Business Unit. A solid candidate will have an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions.

. What you will do:

  • Lead a project team in delivering Oracle Local Government public safety solutions to the customer
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers, set expectations, provide meaningful and timely communication, and deliver on promises and commitments
  • Methodically manage complex business and logistical challenges
  • Provide day to day direction to the project team and regular project status to the customer
  • Exercise creativity, independent judgment, and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques
  • Exhibit strong executive presence and ability to interact with key project sponsors
  • Adopt and apply the Oracle True Cloud Method to Local Government implementations

What you've done:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 8 years) work experience
  • 8+ years of managing complex cloud and SaaS projects to successful delivery, preferably in the public safety space
  • Familiar with and comfortable operating with law enforcement and emergency services situations and personnel
  • Proven self-starter that proactively develops working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Experienced with gap analysis, risk mitigation, issue documentation, tracking and prioritization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Shown comfort working in rapid paced environments with evolving expectations and priorities.
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time depending on need

It would be awesome if you also had:

  • CJIS certification
  • PM Methodology certification
  • Scrum Master certification
  • Knowledge/familiarity with Oracle products and services, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Experience working in a public safety position
  • Management experience, hiring and developing a team

Note:

This is a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) sensitive position and will require a fingerprint-based background investigation, conducted by customer criminal justice agencies, to determine an applicant’s eligibility for access to criminal justice information. Employees hired for this position will be required to obtain and maintain CJIS access approval by Federal, state, and/or local agencies for Criminal Justice information, related law enforcement databases, and communications systems.
