The Project Manager ensures the successful delivery of projects within the supply chain function. The PM serves as a central hub for project management, providing oversight and guidance to project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Supports data-driven decision making on the Novartis Supply Chain team & supporting key stakeholders of business and helping them to take key decisions with data.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The primary responsibility is to support the Supply Chain team in projects and operational tasks. The position holder ensures full visibility of ongoing projects progress.
  • The role is responsible for program management & coordination e.g., supporting work streams, providing project execution support and planning support. The role supports programs and large-scale transformations by providing guidance, monitoring compliance with project milestones, risks and issues and reporting on program/project status at all levels of the program.
  • Assist in the development of plans for a project, including the schedule, the budget, outlining the duties of each team members, identifying project goals, and setting a timeline for the project.
  • Assist the leads and the team in operational tasks, such as project coordination, organization of key multi-stakeholder meetings, etc.
  • Closely supervise each project they handle to ensure that projects remain on track, meet deadlines, stay under budget, and develop according to plan.
  • Regularly update program risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) logs
  • Schedule, coordinate and assist in running workstream meetings, sharing meeting Agendas and notes with team members and assisting in the creation of PowerPoint decks.
  • Provide support in the implementation of regional and global OpEx programs, projects and initiatives at the local level as required.
  • Provide support to complete the development of projects and monitoring plans to ensure successful completion within scope, time, quality parameters and fulfilment of financials targets in line with the business strategies and priorities.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $112,800 and $169,200 year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, engineering and/or technical discipline or related. Master’s degree is preferred.
English fluently, verbally and in writing

  • 5+ year experience in in the medical, pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical industries. Minimum 3+ year experience in project management or similar role, collaborating across boundaries and geographic scope.
  • Ability to lead medium scale projects independently
  • Hands on experience in areas of project management tools & methodologies
  • Supply Chain exposure a plus
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strategy, operational processes, and customer experience
  • Ability to influence for results in a cross-functional organization
  • Experience in managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong personal ethics and responsibility to purpose
  • Proven self-starter with experience in initiating and delivering high impact projects and processes across a geographically and functionally diverse teams. Self-motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results.
