This position is grant funded- salary up to $60,000.00 annually

The Program Director for Housing and Social Services will report to the Vice President, Community Well-Being. This position will provide direct supervision and oversight of Case Managers and case management activities that service housing residents. This individual will also work closely with center and senior leadership to ensure that policies, procedures and protocols are designed and implemented in a manner that reflects best practices and ensure optimal quality of life for the YMCA’s housing constituents. Organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up, documentation preparation, and a service orientation are crucial for success in this role.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Case Management Services at the YMCA SRO housing facilities
  • Provide individualized supervision and case consult to direct service staff. Support the professional growth of social work staff through role modeling, workshops, presentations and individual supervision
  • Work with staff to plan and implement group interventions consistent with the needs of the service populations
  • In collaboration with the Executive Directors of Lake View and Irving Park Y and leaders in the Y’s Legal, Finance and Community Investment and Social Responsibility team, develop policies and procedures consistent with housing first and social work practice standards
  • Plan and participate in emergency interventions, as dictated by the circumstances and in accordance with association policies
  • Network with ancillary service providers as benefits our service population, establishing Memoranda of Understanding as appropriate; instruct direct service staff in such networking techniques
  • Oversee, monitor and update reporting systems, strategizing in order to meet grant deliverables and optimize participant outcomes. Prepare for regularly scheduled program audits; train direct service staff in daily compliance standards. Collaborate with the Research and Evaluation team and other housing staff on monitoring metrics for program success and using data for continuous improvement
  • Implement and monitor program expenditure procedures as it relates to direct service experience
  • Collaborate with Research and Evaluation as well as other members of the Community Investment and Social Responsibility team to redesign and develop new program design components as needed, supported by program evaluation and best-practices research
  • Collaborate with Mission Advancement and Research and Evaluation on grant writing and reporting
  • Work with other stakeholders to identify and implement business process synergies that benefit housing constituents and overall association operating efficiencies
  • Maintain a small caseload of 5 housing residents
  • Performs other job-enhancing duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Master of Social Work Degree or a MA Degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience supervising case managers
  • Experience and knowledge of housing policies, procedures and best practices
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in order to effectively collaborate with internal and external constituents and partners
  • Proven leadership ability in order to effectively manage human and technical resources in accordance with association policies and grant requirements
  • Support the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention efforts by
  • Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to the appropriate department
  • Regularly monitoring staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to child safety. Take the appropriate action when policy violations occur
  • Follow-up on reports of suspicious behavior or allegations of misconduct, following the Responding to Reports of Inappropriate Behavior and Policy Violations policy
  • Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
  • Ensuring that all employees supervised complete all required child abuse prevention training on time
