Supports the Production Supervisor in directing and coordinating the daily activities and development of production personnel engaged in the manufacturing and secondary operations of medical device components.
Your responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of department personnel with support from Supervisor.
  • Directs the work assignments and is responsible for following up on the progress of these assignments throughout the shift.
  • Supports Production Supervisor in the planning coordination of production activities to obtain optimum utilization of human resources, direct materials, and equipment.
  • Has the authority to issue and enforce Management directives.
  • Assists Supervisor and/or Manager with addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
  • Advises Management of new developments that may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations and/or inter-departmental relations.
  • Weekly approvals of time records for department (Kronos).
  • Responsible for timely performance feedback and annual reviews.
  • Facilitates employee training as needed.
  • Reviews quality issues, such as NCMRs, with assigned personnel, engineering etc. and takes corrective action as required.
  • Ensures the outcomes of that data analysis drives corrective actions and is communicated to the team.
  • Oversees collection of production data and the analysis of that data and reports that data to the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably servicing the Medical Device Industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Awareness of progressive management technologies such as Lean Manufacturing, JIT, MRP, and ERP desirable.
