The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the supervision of all non-exempt Laundry personnel in processing linens to satisfy customer requirements. Prepares and maintains daily work assignments, manages employee performance, ensures productivity standards are being met and operations are in compliance with OSHA, Joint commission, CARF and Goodwill Linen Services Infection and Control and Safety policies.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and Laundry operations. Implements, revises, and sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 3 - 12 months.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
2. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data and resolve issues.
3. Technical Skill: Understands and applies professional principles and skills within area of specialization to modify processes to resolve situations.
4. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
5. Ensures and documents that all productivity standards are being met.
6. Supervises work flow in assigned area.
7. Ability to trouble shoot malfunctions of equipment and work with the maintenance staff, informing them of any equipment malfunctions.
8. Completes all daily attendance and production reports and maintains accurate records of department activities.
9. Functions in compliance with all OSHA, Joint Commission, ISO, CARF, and Goodwill Linen Services Infection Control and Safety policies.
10. Responds to customer needs and concerns. Works toward resolution of concerns to provide high level of customer satisfaction.
11. Performs all linen services work functions as needed to maintain work flow.
12. Facilitate shift meetings with employees as a group on an as needed basis.
13. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
2. Experience in linen services, production-related area, or commercial laundry is preferred.
3. Previous supervisor or lead person experience preferred.
4. Basic computer skills
5. The ability to work flexible shifts, in order to cover for the absence of other supervisors in the department.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Regularly lifts and/or moves up 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Moves about to accomplish tasks. Lift: Raises objects from lower to higher position or moves objects horizontally. Reach: Extending upwards or downwards to retrieve objects. Worker is subject to weather conditions (hot, humid, dry, cold etc.). Worker is subject to excessive noise. Worker is subject to human blood, body fluids or tissue. Repetitive use of hands for handling and folding products and computer use, stand for long periods of time, vision required for assessing material working with and computer work.

Pay: From $20.96 per hour
