Location-Greensboro, NC
Salary- $70-75k

Job Summary: The Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of jobs and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. The Planner is responsible for the planning of all work orders, reduce past due jobs and communicate changes of work orders and material status. Develops and communicates the build schedule to Production, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and Program Management Departments. Supports Continuous Improvement to improve quality, reduce lead times and achieve organizational goals. Duties include creating/distributing weekly production schedules, monitors/adjusts the status of build schedules and communicates shipment schedules.

Essential Job Duties:
1. Ensures all work orders contain the correct versions of drawings, designs, programs and methods.
2. Creates build schedule and prioritizes jobs for organization to meet ship dates.
3. Assists in the creation of capacity plans.
4. Reports on the hours, equipment and raw materials variances used to produce jobs.
5. Communicates schedule performance by conferring with Production Leadership.
6. Verifies that all jobs are transacted completely in MRP, reports on delays in transaction workflow and works with Production, Shipping, Purchasing Customer Care and Quality to get closed.
7. Communicates when expedites of operations and materials are required and develops recovery schedules for organization to meet unforeseen conditions. Works with Department Leaders to ensure execution of work orders per Build Schedule.
8. Act upon the disposition of Non Conformance Reports to ensure that replacement or rework jobs are re-planned within current schedule.
9. Recommends alternative Build Plans for assigned department/program. Assists other Planners and Buyers to implement the assigned planning and scheduling tools for their department/program areas of responsibilities.
10. Support configuration changes by advising best 'SS Cut-in' dates approved through the Change Control Board.
11. Provides the necessary information for Production Control Centre of Excellence Board to ensure it is up to date and correct.
12. Promotes a culture of safety by monitor self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the Safety Manual.
13. Interface effectively with all members of Management, other departments, and co-workers.

Secondary Duties:
  • Assist in the development of training materials and support training of other employees in the performance of PC tasks and responsibilities.
  • Keep own and adjacent work area clean.
  • Collaborate with necessary departments in determining the appropriate production lead-times, production capacity and capabilities.
Accountabilities:
  • Monitor progress of all jobs from release through closeout using the ERP system.
  • Prepare and maintains appropriate data files on job status, Production hours, and material shortages.
  • Ensure all operations are audited; this includes signatures, stamps, workstation closing and material allocations are complete. Provide accurate project status reports to management as requested.
  • Conduct themselves within all guidelines of company, FAA, and customer policies, work rules, and regulations (ex. Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), Airworthiness Agreements), etc.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Work closely with Production management, Quality Control, Engineering, Stores, and Tooling to ensure the timely completion of a project.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum
1. 2 yr of Planning and/or Supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
2. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people.
3. Basic computer background required with familiarity of ERP systems.
4. Self-starter requiring minimum supervision.
5. Read, write and understand the English language.

Preferred
1. Previous Production Control experience
2. Experience in Capacity Planning
3. Experience Pull Systems and Heijunka

Physical Requirements:
1. Subject to noises in excess of 85 dB
2. Normal or corrected vision and hearing
3. Capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds
4. Shop Floor environment where approximately seventy-five (50) percent of work is performed walking within facility with the remaining time sitting performing tasks within a computer.
5. Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to climb steps.
6. Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations
