Role Description:
Listen’s Production Engineer is responsible for technical aspects of the manufacturing department. This includes Listens proprietary hardware and software, test equipment, and corresponding processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for Listen Production testing infrastructure
- Control and update all QC test sequences including using our own test software, SoundCheck
- Setup and maintain the computers, audio interfaces, test fixtures and electronics test equipment used in manufacturing
- Creating and maintain all documentation used in testing Listen products
- Establish and maintain an effective physical workflow model to encourage increased productivity, efficiency, repeatability and quality.
Technical lead in handling of manufacturing non-conformance
- Responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, record keeping, and reporting of all Listen product failures
- Responsible for the evaluation, repair and reporting of all Listen customers returned material
- Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and known issues guides
- Creation and distribution of NCR to contract manufacturers and other vendors
New product introduction
- Assist hardware engineers with prototyping products under development, including assembly and rework
- Participate in first article product launch as determined by product schedule
- Responsible for implementing new software releases in manufacturing and collaborating with software and support teams for bug fixes
- Create and implement engineering change request and orders as needed
Miscellaneous
- The production engineer will be required to build and test listen hardware at the discretion of the Manufacturing Manager
- Assist with the selection of new production personnel including full time and COOP students
- Technical training of production employees, including maintaining training materials and conducting training
- Assist hardware engineering in technical research
- Other ad-hoc duties as requested
Requirements
- Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits and follow signal flow on schematics
- Ability to clearly and concisely document written procedures
- Strong attention to detail and quality including entering information accurately
- Experience with test equipment such as digital multimeters, audio interfaces and oscilloscopes
- Experience with troubleshooting, debugging, and reworking electronics
- Proficiency with standard office software, including MS Office
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- BSEE or similar with relevant experience
Preferences
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Technical writing skills
- Experience in creating test scripts or using Python or LabVIEW is highly desired
- Previous experience or an interest in audio equipment is an advantage
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,047.58 - $84,358.38 per year
