Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Process Engineer for the front end (Machines, Finishing) to support the Memphis Cellulose plant. The selected individual will champion ideas of automation, advanced controls, new technologies, and removing bottlenecks to improve the safety, environmental compliance, and competitive cost position of the mill.


What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Participate in mill improvement processes to reduce manufacturing costs by optimizing and continuously improving throughput and reducing waste
  • Identifying and closing gaps with sustainability programs, addressing people, processes, and equipment
  • Support an environment to achieve Health, Safety, and Environmental Excellence
  • Assist in executing asset strategy improvement
  • Provide technical assistance and seek, share, and transfer knowledge to the operating team (work with equipment operators to create process work documents)
  • Identify, investigate, recommend, and implement equipment improvements, new systems and process changes that will improve productivity, yield, quality and/or reduce costs
  • Develop initial engineering scope of work and financial analysis for capital and expense projects
  • Partner with quality to determine a preliminary Root Cause response to customer complaints


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
  • Experience in a process engineering or optimization type role
  • Experience analyzing data (i.e.- Excel, Tableau, Minitab)


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Process engineering experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • Experience training or leading meetings to share knowledge
