The Consumer & Cloud Infrastructure Group at ADI is exponentially expanding its activities and engagements, growing its battery power solutions to further complement its existing mixed-signal products, using 90nm and lower geometry, CMOS Analog Power Process technologies.

The Team:
Battery Power Solution (BPS) Team is primarily focused on PMIC and hybrid mixed-signal / power developments, for High-End / High-Volume electronic devices, such as Smartphones, Tablets and Consumer Accessories. BPS Sophia-Antipolis Team is expanding its focus in Power Solutions, across a broad range of IC engineering profiles and levels of experience, including Analog Designer, Digital Designer, Mixed-Signal Designer, Verification Engineer, Validation Engineer and Layout Designer.
The Position:
Analog Devices, Inc. is looking for a Principal Engineer - DIGITAL IC DESIGN to join our BPS Team. The candidate will be self-motivated, willing to drive the execution of new products, but also be able to work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple development locations. The candidate will join a team of Analog, Digital, Mixed-Signal CMOS designers, Mask Layout designers, Verification and Validation engineers, Algorithm and Software developers, Packaging and Test engineers, implementing PMIC state of the art. The candidate will be involved in the following developments, from definition to production:
- LDO, BUCK, BOOST, BUCK-BOOST, CHARGE-PUMP, USB(C), SIMO (Single-Input / Multiple Outputs), IBB (Inverted BUCK-BOOST)
- Power Sequencer, PLL, ADC, DAC, I/O, SPI, I2C, OTP, MTP, RAM, ROM, DFT
Responsibilities:
- Power IP Development
- Define IP Specification
- Improve and influence Team Flows and Methodologies
- Power Management IC Development
- Drive executions of IC developments based on PMIC specifications, pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation
- Ownership of digital interfaces, FSM’s, and controlling logic required to implement new products in a wide range of application spaces
- Technical Customer Interface Engagement
- Participate in customer engagements, in support of technical feasibility
- IC Development Weekly meetings / IC Milestone Workshops
- Human Resources Management
- Enable a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Drive project management, task planning
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in Digital and Mixed-Signal IC design
- Strong technical and analytical background with good problem-solving skills
- Strong team worker with multi-discipline
- Deep understanding of Mixed-Signal Design Flow and Top-Down development methodology
- Strong RTL coding and block-level verification
- Digital design for synchronous applications, including multiple clock domains
- Strong System-Verilog fluency in design, simulation, and verification domains
- Digital Functional Oriented and Randomized Verification
- Assertions, Regressions and Coverage Closure
- Timing Constraints, Synthesis, Place And Route (P&R)
- Static Timing Analysis (STA), Logical Equivalency Checking (LEC), Gate Level Simulation (GLS)
- Design For Test (DFT), SCAN Insertion, Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG), Fault Grading
- Excellent written and verbal communication (English)
- Technical project management: demonstrated success in project leadership role
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Definition, implementation and verification of custom digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.), custom FSM and control logic for use with different analog circuits (LDO, BUCK, BOOST, BUCK-BOOST, CHARGE-PUMP, USBC, etc.)
- Familiar with Analog Behavioral Modeling (Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, Wreal, System-Verilog, EEnet)
- Familiar with Mixed-Signal Verification methodology and tools (AMS / APS / Flex)
- Advanced knowledge of complex IC verification techniques / UVM Verification (Universal Verification Methodology)
- Lab silicon bring-up and Production Test support experiences
- Familiar with Multiple Power and Clock domains
- Product definition involvement
- Experience in introducing products to the market and/or customer support
