Job purpose

The Provider in Convenient Care is responsible for providing care to patients who utilize Convenient Care for healthcare as well as providing Employee Health Services. Responsible for clinical decision-making as it relates to care, treatment and follow-up care provisions.

Duties and responsibilities

CLINICAL PRACTICE:

Competency: Provides treatment and care to patients in the River Hospital Convenient Care using established procedure, assessment, planning and intervention evaluation.

Expectations:

• Provides direct patient care within their scope of practice.
• Assesses patients
• Performs history & physical
• Determines from clinical assessment a diagnosis and coordinates care with physician specialists when needed.
• Works with other care practitioners to ensure appropriate education and discharge planning.
• Initiates immediate patient intervention when an emergency medical condition is determined. Makes arrangements for the patient to be transferred to the Emergency Department. (May or may not accompany the patient.)
• Adheres to policies and procedures for documenting care provided in the setting.
• Ensures that documentation is concise, legible and appropriate.
• Collaborates with the Administrator / Physician in developing and revising patient care standards, protocols, policies and procedures.
• Provides pre-employment evaluation and orders necessary titers and vaccines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner school
• Graduate of an accredited AMA/AACOM approved medical school.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in a Medical Specialty and/or verified designated training in Emergency Medicine.
• Current New York State License/Registration
• Current BLS
• Completion of all credentialing procedures and requirements.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $70.00 - $83.00 per hour
