Job Title: Physical Therapist Litchfield Hills Orthopedics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassionate, expert care they can trust. Position Summary

Seeking full-time, part-time, or per diem physical therapists for multiple positions available in our growing practice. This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of a team of orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, physical therapists, and occupational therapists providing comprehensive care. Our therapists provide strong manual therapy skills including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization with cupping, dry needling and functional exercises to optimize patient outcomes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our orthopedic surgeons and to observe surgery

The positions will be in the Bristol and or Torrington office. Hours are flexible and may include some evenings. Preferred candidates will bring orthopedic and sports medicine experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities for the Physical Therapist

  • Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice as well as state standards.
  • Develop Plan of Treatment based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement.
  • Implement Plan of treatment on a consistent basis and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress.
  • Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation standards.
  • Evaluate mobility, strength, and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities.
  • Develop a plan for patients following completion of their plan of care with appropriate instructions, home exercises, and services to ensure continued progress.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops, journal clubs, peer reviews, and reviewing professional publications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians and developing a home exercise program.
  • Complete chart audits on a bimonthly basis.
  • Communicate with rehabilitation director on a consistent and ongoing basis to maximize office efficiency and minimize problem areas.
  • Communicate with physicians on an ongoing basis regarding patient care and progress.
  • Participate in yearly performance review and monthly staff meetings.

Qualifications for Physical Therapist

  • BS, MS, or DPT degree in Physical Therapy from a US accredited program
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support Certification with AED.
  • Maintain current physical therapy licensure for State of Connecticut

Experience:

  • Orthopedic: 1 year (Preferred)

License:

  • PT (Required)
