Mason County EMS is an Advanced Life Support EMS agency operated by Mason District Hospital with bases in Havana and Mason City.

Mason District Hospital offers the best-funded statewide retirement system in Illinois. IMRF's goal is to be 100% funded (currently at 98.6%), which means they have all the money on hand that they will ever need to pay for the benefits of current and future retirees. IMRF is a defined benefit program which means pension eligibility is based on years of IMRF service and your final monthly rate of earnings. Your pension will not be affected by the performance of the stock market.

Qualifications for Mason County EMS:

*24 hour shift

* Valid Illinois Paramedic license.

* ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS (or ITLS) required for Paramedic applicants.

* CPR required for all applicants.

Responsibilities:

* The paramedic provides care for patients across the life span and follow treatment protocols. In this role, you will perform duties to provide the highest level of patient care. The candidate will be responsible for assessment, interaction, and treatment of patients.

* The paramedic will be responsible for treating ill and injured patients of all age groups.

* The paramedic will perform skilled work while operating in an ambulance, rescuing victims and performing advanced emergency care including the administration of life sustaining treatment to patients on-site and while in route to hospital.

* Operates emergency vehicles and transports patients to appropriate medical facilities.

* Accurate patient reporting through electronic PCR system.

* Performs daily inspections of all medical supplies and equipment in the ambulances and station, replacing when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.24 - $24.74 per hour
