SEASONAL PARACHUTE PACKER AT SKYDIVE ORANGE

Skydive Orange is Virginia’s premier dropzone which welcomes first time skydivers, people working toward their skydiving license, and experienced skydivers. We are located at the Orange County Airport in central Virginia, which is just 1 ½ hours from Northern Virginia and the Washington DC metro area, and 45 minutes away from Fredericksburg and Charlottesville. JOB DESCRIPTION

A parachute packer at Skydive Orange will provide customer service to both licensed jumpers and student skydivers by carefully packing the main parachute of the skydiving gear. We are looking for passionate individuals that are hungry to learn and are willing to grow to be a part of our team! It’s imperative that you are a reliable and responsible individual - we book jumpers well in advance, so we need to feel secure in you and your abilities.

We strongly believe in a team environment projecting our love for the sport on anyone who walks in the door. It’s all about the experience and welcoming those who have not experienced the magic of our sport into our little world. All that being said, we’re humans - no one’s perfect. As long as you share the love of adventure, a safety oriented mind-set and a positive attitude we’d be happy to chat with you!

We are looking for someone to get started with training Feb/March 2022 and working the full season of May 1st through October 31st with the chance of remaining on year round, and/or coming back for next season; for both weekends only and “full time, seasonal” Wednesdays through Sundays. We are flexible on start dates and end dates.

EXPECTATIONS/COMPENSATION

Most people can be adequately trained in a few days, once we and you are comfortable with your progress, we will allow you to “go live” starting with packing for licensed jumpers only. Once you master that, you can then move onto student gear. To be very transparent, you will be working in the heat with very long hours - We jump from 8 am until Sunset most days. Compensation is a piece rate, so you will be paid per parachute you pack at $8 per pack. Most packers can pack 2-3+ per hour once fully trained.

● You must be at least 18 years old
● You must have reliable transportation
● You must be able to work most weekends
● Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
● Organized and detail oriented
● Professionalism with a dash of adventure!
