Job Title: Oracle DBA

Duration: Long Term Contract (2+ Years)

Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid work environment, 3 days onsite/2 days off)

In-Person Interview with any local candidate is a must, no exceptions

Duration: 2 years (With a possible extension for another 1-2 years)

Must own a vehicle to be able to visit various MPA Locations in and around Baltimore Area, all locations are within a few miles of each other, all of the locations are downtown Baltimore(Inner Harbor) area, no travel reimbursement.

Hybrid work environment, 3 days onsite/2 days off

Visa candidates are okay to submit but we need to make sure they are able to work on this project for the full duration.

Client is looking for very strong SQL and Oracle experience, client prefers mostly US experience.

Client is looking for a candidate with 9-10+ years of US experience and wants them to have worked at medium-large size companies.

We can consider strong candidates that are open to relocation, but the 2nd interview will have to be in person. Candidate must be 100% ready to take the in person interview.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Database Management System Administrator:

Database Management Support

Administering all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore procedures, Capacity Planning and related components, Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services.

Recommending/implementing solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning.

Assisting with Windows Server configuration and management as it relates to MS SQL Server installation and performance to maintain license compliance.

Controlling access permissions and privileges.

Migrating the Databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016.

Providing support for maintenance plans (including DBCC), backup, recovery, and highly availability SQL Server solutions, including Replication Models (Snapshot/Transactional)

Disaster Recovery planning, execution and testing.

Performing database activities, such as monitoring, space management, and support, as well as extended hours of support for database systems when required.

Maintaining documentation of data standards, procedures and definitions for data dictionary.

Providing all aspects of basic systems administration support, such as installing and configuring new hardware and software.

Supporting virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, creating and configuring virtual machines.

Conducting constant performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required.

Configuring CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required in both Physical and Virtual servers.

Providing Network Administration support with knowledge in network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP) and network devices (Routers, Switches, Fibers).

Supporting and administering applications such as Maximo, Access Control and Kleinport etc. p. Implement/deploying Microsoft Technologies, such as Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Web Services.

Performing backups of the web, application, and database servers according to MPA policies and procedures. This shall include daily incremental backups and full weekly backups of all volumes of servers.

*Oracle golden gate installation, maintenance, and upgrade with windows and Linux environment , with Oracle 12c, 19c or later; oracle TDE management; oracle connection manager; capacity planning, performance tuning.

*Oracle Linux and Oracle patching, backup and recovery experience, Oracle Grid Control; oracle virtual server and virtual manager; Oracle license management.

*Oracle middleware fusion, with oracle forms and reports administration with application support; client software installation, oracle connection clients with Microsoft products, including IIS, visual studios, etc.

*Toad, SQL developer, pl/SQL scripting, SQLJ scripting

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related filed.

Minimum of 8 years of practical experience as a database management resource including:

Oracle golden gate installation, maintenance, and upgrade with windows and Linux environment, with Oracle 12c, 19c or later; oracle TDE management; Oracle connection manager; capacity planning, performance tuning.

Oracle Linux and Oracle patching, backup and recovery experience, Oracle Grid Control; Oracle virtual server and virtual manager; Oracle license management.

Oracle middleware fusion, with oracle forms and reports administration with application support; client software installation, oracle connection clients with Microsoft products, including IIS, visual studios, etc.

Toad, SQL developer, PL/SQL scripting, SQLJ scripting

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration including:

SQL server 2016, TDE, T-SQL, SQL server backup and recovery, management studio, SQL scripting. Job management, report writing, application support

Minimum of one (1) year experience in various Virtualization tools and/or Microsoft Hyper-V

Installation and maintenance of windows server physical and virtual machines; experience with DNS, DHCP, firewall rules, networks and virtual switches

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $36.48 - $63.00 per hour

Schedule:
