Position Title: Office Manager

ORGANIZATION
The Cashmere Chamber of Commerce established in 1924 is a membership driven organization (501 c6) with the mission to promote economic vitality for growth of betterment of our community.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to Board of Directors, the Office Manager manages operations, finances, communications, membership, programs, and events for the Chamber. Other essential duties include membership cultivation, fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The Office Manager is expected to represent the Chamber utilizing good judgement and tact to foster positive relationships in the community.

The Board of Directors will look to the Office Manager to lead and guide the organization, uphold the mission, and propose optimal investments for members and partners. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies: business ethics, organization, visionary leadership, strategic thinking, teamwork, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to guide and develop people while successfully managing multiple projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Board of Directors to ensure the Chamber will function effectively and efficiently to meet the goals and mission of the Chamber
  • Lead ongoing events, activities and fundraisers
  • Ensure fiscal stability, accountability, and transparency
  • Maintain community partnerships
  • Pursue opportunities to keep the Chamber innovative while aligning with the mission
  • Promote the organization
  • Serve at the direction of the Board of Directors

General Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Chamber
  • Maintain the chamber’s office
  • Maintain familiarity of the community and business needs
  • Maintain personal contact and develop relationships with key community leaders

Membership, Recruitment and Retention (with support from Committee Co-Chair)

  • Develop strong relationships with present and potential members
  • Responsible for membership recruitment and retention plans
  • Oversee billing and collection of membership dues

Financial Management (with support from Office Administrator, Bookkeeper and /or President and Treasurer)

  • Ensure grant funding opportunities and reporting
  • Support review of budget vs. actuals with the board
  • Events (with support from Committee Co-Chair)
  • Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all special events for the Chamber
  • Coordinate with Co-Chair
  • Acquire sponsorships and community patterns
  • Secure and coordinate volunteer participation
  • Develop advertising strategies
  • Design event marketing and staging materials

Communication and Marketing (with support from Committee Co-Chair)

  • Maintain a high level of communication among the Chamber staff, Board of Directors, committees, community partners, and members of the community.
  • Develop yearly marketing plans
  • Maintain e-newsletter and press releases
  • Create annual brochures and promotional materials

Human Resources

  • Maintain employee personnel files
  • Coordinate student internship and community service opportunities

Board of Directors

  • Provide orientation, support, and guidance to the Board
  • Work with the Board President to prepare monthly meeting agendas
  • Ensure minutes of meetings are recorded and kept with support from Secretary
  • Prepare monthly Manager report to the Board of Directors on membership, finances, events, and highlights

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • Recommended a degree in Business or related field
  • Experience in non-profit operations
  • Experience in marketing and fundraising
  • Exposure to financial management
  • Experience in operations management

ABILITIES

  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a group
  • Ability to work positively with the business community, sponsors, and volunteers
  • High level of diplomacy and tact
  • Ability to present/speak to groups

Anticipated work schedule would fall Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. Some weekends and evening hours are anticipated throughout the year at different times.

Compensation $20/hr for 30 hours per week
