Joining our team as a Network Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for resolving complex application and hardware integration issues, gathering application requirements, implementing standards, making best-practice recommendations, and finding solutions for mission-critical systems. Your expertise will ensure resilient network connectivity within our campus and with our esteemed business partners.

What You Bring to the Table:

3+ years of hands-on experience in Palo Alto Firewall engineering

US Citizenship is required

Proven track record with 5+ years of firewall installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Practical knowledge of protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, VRF, IPSEC, QoS, DNS, VTP, Broadcast, Multicast, and GRE

Proficiency in Juniper SRX, Cisco ACS, F5 security module, and Palo Alto firewalls

Familiarity with Pulse Secure VPN and NAC profiler

Working knowledge of Cloud security and best practices

Extensive understanding and application of advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in network and communications engineering

Familiarity with network security practices, support of a Security Operations Center, network switch and routing protocols, and network services applications

Ability to identify, report, and resolve problems efficiently

Knowledge of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and associated industry and academic practices and standards

Practical experience with NAC 802.1x, SSL decrypt, and Certificate-based authentication deployments

Understanding of DDOS mitigation, URL filtering, Proxies, CASB, NAC, and SSL decryption

Proven expertise in designing high-traffic networks and implementing security practices for Data Center Networks, including traffic engineering, network redundancy, and disaster recovery

Proficiency in network switching and routing, with a preference for Juniper experience

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Shell, Bash, Perl, Java, API, Ansible, JSON, SOAP, Ruby, or REST
Demonstrated experience gathering requirements from diverse business units, stakeholders, and engineering teams
Recent systems engineering experience applied to computing or network architectures
Successful track record in developing innovative solutions for complex technical problems
Cross-functional Network Project Management experience is a plus
Ability to automate network tasks using a programming language

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Plan, design, develop, and implement network engineering plans for wide-scale WAN/LAN firewall security schemes for customers.
Provide advanced knowledge and expertise in all customer interaction situations to resolve highly complex problems, from specifications to design, testing, and service requests
Perform network systems engineering, including performance analysis, maintainability analysis, capacity analysis, and reliability analysis
Establish contingency plans and anomaly resolution plans for complex computer networks
Debug and test firewalls, plan projects, and conduct needs assessments
Prepare cost/benefit estimates, deliver presentations, negotiate agreements, oversee installations, resolve problems

$120K to $160K
