We are seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Collection Specialist to join our Field Operations team in PULASKI COUNTY. The selected candidate will be performing mobile, home-based collections for participants required to complete drug screens as part of their involvement with the Indiana Department of Child Services. The Mobile Laboratory Collection Specialist is responsible for collecting, logging, ordering, processing, and shipping urine, oral fluid(saliva), and/or hair specimens for drug testing in accordance with contractual requirements. The Mobile LCS will cover specific counties within the state of Indiana, traveling to homes and collection sites to perform collection duties. Daily travel routes will be provided each morning before the start of the scheduled shift. This position will also be on-call to support emergency collection requests after hours as-needed, including potential overnights and weekends. The Mobile LCS will also provide support to the Program Manager and Regional Lead ensuring that third party collection sites meet Cordant’s standards for the Indiana Department of Child Safety program.

The pay range for this role is $16.00-$18.00 per hour. Emergency collection requests completed outside of regular business hours will be paid at your regular hourly rate (with overtime, if applicable), in addition to a $100 collection bonus! The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday 10:00am-6:00pm.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  • Travel to participant’s homes to collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, oral, and/or hair specimens to laboratory
  • Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens
  • Assemble samples for shipping
  • File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
  • Courier specimens to drop off location and/or lab
  • Keep detailed record of client and patient interactions
  • Follow all procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Maintain availability after-hours for emergency collection requests
  • Travel to third party collection sites to perform site inspections, as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • HS diploma or GED, required
  • 2+ years’ work experience in healthcare, criminal justice, or a similar field preferred
  • 1+ years’ customer service experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in dynamic field-based environments highly preferred
Other Position Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance with candidate listed as an insured driver, required
  • Smartphone with ability to enable location-tracking, required
  • Must be willing to travel within region for emergency collections with little notice (1 hour)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of specimen collection procedures is advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively in potentially stressful or dynamic situations
  • Ability to de-escalate in communications with participants
  • Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to actively listen
  • Hide degree of trust worthiness and ethical conduct
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as a in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) -Heavier weights with assistance
