Job description

We need to hire a medical receptionist/new patient scheduler for our busy outpatient mental health clinic. We provide counseling, medication management, testing and evaluations. Full time with benefits; health insurance, paid time off and paid holidays. Starting wage is $16/hr or higher depending on experience. Position is 40 hours a week; Salt Lake: Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00. Please reply to this posting with a cover letter and resume.

Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact interacting with patients over the phone or in person.
  • Handles a high volume of incoming calls.
  • Schedules patients with appropriate provider.
  • Collecting copays
  • Communicating with pharmacies
  • Assisting in billing process
  • Maintain at all times the confidentiality of any patient or employee medical, financial or personal information and other information.
  • Be able to adapt to constant scheduling changes.
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ideal characteristics in a candidate: acts professionally; does well in a fast-paced environment; is reliable; is confident in face-to-face conversation as well as telephone communications; has a positive attitude; basic knowledge in health insurance; experience in healthcare is preferred. Pays attention to the small details. Must be able to type minimum 50 wpm. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs. Must be able to pass a background check.
