We are a fast-growing medical practice located in Burbank, CA and are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, be highly organized, and have excellent communication skills. We strongly prefer candidates with surgical billing experience.

Responsibilities for our Medical Billing Specialist:

• Reviewing and verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Accurately coding and submitting medical claims for services rendered in an outpatient setting
• Following up on unpaid claims and denials, and resolving billing discrepancies
• Managing appeals and denials to maximize reimbursement
• Posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts
• Preparing and submitting patient statements and invoices
• Conducting regular audits of billing records to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Maintaining knowledge of current billing and coding regulations and practices
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing and payment records in electronic health records (EHRs) or other billing software

Qualifications for our Medical Billing Specialist position:

• 2 years of General Surgery billing experience, or minimum 3-5 years of medical office billing experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT coding for outpatient and inpatient visits
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
