Allergy and Asthma Clinic of East Lansing is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. We are looking for an eager professional ready to jump in to our growing practice, and become part of the team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of our office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients
- Taking and recording vitals (Weight, height, blood pressure, respiration, pulse, spo2, temp)
- Confirming drug allergies and entering demographics/preferred pharmacy into our prescription software for streamlining medications for patients.
- Perform Skin Prick Allergy Testing
- Helping facilitate in office food and drug challenges, and venom testing.
- Administer injections including some vaccines, immunotherapy injections, biologic injections for Chronic Hives, Asthma, and more.
- Helping treat anaphylaxis in shot patients or patients with challenges. Including retrieving the anaphylaxis bin, getting vitals, drawing up epinephrine from ampule, documenting and assuring provider notified to evaluate.
- Perform spirometry testing on patients with Asthma, and COPD, Reactive Airway Disease.
Medical Assistant Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- Preferred Certified Medical Assistant
- BLS/CPR certified
