Position Description
Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
The Manager 1 position: plans, coordinates and oversees all aspects of geotechnical projects, oversees drilling and construction material source exploration, develops engineering policies and procedures, and programs and manages consultant agreements. The incumbent supervises geotechnical drilling, and construction materials source exploration and sampling. This position is located in Geotechnical Section of the Materials Division at the Carson City Headquarters.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment.
- A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
