Responsibilities

Pride Institute is celebrating our 37th year of providing our clients with an inclusive and accepting place for recovery through evidence-based treatment for substance abuse, sexual health and mental health. We offer our clients residential and outpatient levels of care to provide the help and tools needed for addiction and mental health recovery and to support their personal growth, resiliency and overall wellness during their recovery program with us.

We are currently looking for a part-time, Maintenance Helper to assist our Maintenance Lead with ensuring a clean, well maintained and fully functioning living environment for Pride clients at our Eden Prairie residential treatment center (RTC) and our nearby “PHP” house, in addition to ensuring an optimal physical work environment for Pride staff. Working primarily at the RTC, our Helper’s schedule is 16 flexible daytime hours every Friday/Saturday, with potential for additional days/hours.

Our Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties to manage routine upkeep of our buildings and exterior areas, including minor repair and installation projects, basic plumbing and lighting issues, as well as non-routine/emergency cleaning as necessary or requested. Following training, our Helper will work independently while following written direction and lists provided by our Lead. As is true of all Pride staff, our Helper provides our clients and staff with appropriate compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries, and protects and maintains confidential facility, staff and client information.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of basic, hands-on experience with plumbing and lighting systems, heating and air conditioning systems, fire and life safety systems, and general building maintenance. Because our Helper maintains (minor maintenance and filling with gas) and frequently uses our facility vehicles, a valid Minnesota driver’s license is required.

Physical requirements include being able to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, work in tight spaces, and work outdoors during inclement weather conditions. Must be able to pass/clear the MN DHS Background Study and must pass a UA drug test. All Pride staff are currently required to be fully immunized against COVID-19.
