We are seeking a Machine Operator to perform complex machining and fitting of all kinds of parts, tools, and machines in support of job shop machining at our US Blades facility in Northport, AL. Come join our great team of dedicated employees and grow with us!

Primary Responsibilities

• Uses bevel and surface grinders to machine steel
• Uses calipers and micrometers
• Understand fractions and decimals
• Read industrial knife blueprints
• Forklift Certified (or able to become certified)
• Loading and unloading steel from any of the 7 grinding machines
• Changing grinding wheels
• Adding coolant and empty swarf when needed
• General cleaning of machines and area.
• Works with a high sense of urgency
• Wears all required PPE
• Active participation in Lean training and events as requested
• Must cross-train to other positions as requested
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems
• Able to schedule daily work requirements unsupervised to meet customer demands
• Work with a technician to troubleshoot minor machine problems
• Must be able to speak and read English
• Must be able to do basic math
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
