Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.

Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
This position collaborates with suppliers to ensure execution to planned orders and schedules, and resolves issues with suppliers to ensure material availability for facility production. The incumbent works with the facility production schedulers and operations personnel to support facility production and point of use material availability. Ensures alignment of facility inventory accuracy and inventory systems planning parameters with the plan for every part to maintain planning integrity.

Typical Day:
Incumbent ensures the timely delivery of materials to the facility, collaborating with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, shipping schedules and work schedules to meet facility production plans. Using supplier collaboration technologies, collaborates with suppliers and operations to plan delivery of material for production. This position analyzes established parts schedules and production requirements, converting requirements into appropriate piece parts, requisitioning the materials, regulating inventory levels and issuing work orders. Incumbent performs work to improve point of use material availability, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions. Provides Material Planning expertise to facility functions in support of improving demand variability, forecast credibility and usability for production planning. Serving as the purchasing representative when Buyer is not available. Assisting in decisions relative to supplier choice, quality and quantity performance and cost negotiations. Contributing to initiation and implementation of cost reduction projects to meet purchasing objectives. Reviewing engineering change and release notices, working to establish best Just In Time delivery and economical lot sizes, contacting suppliers for information on hazardous materials and expediting material as necessary. Assisting Buyer in purchasing duties as needed including rejections, quality requirements, cost improvements and quotation evaluation. Contacting supplier regarding release quantity, delivery date, method of shipment, etc. Assisting in request for quotations as required to establish best cost, quality and delivery. Processing and negotiating resolutions to rejections, supplier debits and credits and investigating price discrepancies. Analyzing all related documents and contacts involved with Client and supplier personnel to resolve problems. Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain or Logistics. 5-7 years related experience.

Technical Skills:
**Required:
Intermediate level of proficiency reading blueprints. General knowledge of production scheduling and capacity management. Ability to use and troubleshoot the MRP, Lognet and MTS systems.

**Desired:
Knowledge and/or experience in material control, purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations and transportation or logistics.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
