Job description
FUNCTION
The Load Securement Specialist has responsibility for properly loading and securing preloads of glass and general freight for inbound truck drivers. The Load Securement Specialist will always follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures required to ensure safe practices.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- The Load Securement Specialist reports directly to the Lead Load Securement Specialist or Load Securement Supervisor.
- The Load Securement Specialist has no supervisory responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Properly secure glass freight on trailers for safe and effective transport.
- Work closely with drivers live loading glass to ensure proper loading and securement.
- Ensure that proper channels of communication exist between the company and customers, maintaining long term positive working relationships.
- Communicate with other departments within the company as necessary to perform job duties.
- Perform functions required to assure long term customer satisfaction.
- Resolve conflict utilizing good interpersonal skills.
- Report issues directly to the Lead Load Securement Specialist/Supervisor.
- Perform duties without direct supervision.
- Practice safety while performing job tasks at all times.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read loadout sheets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Expert knowledge of glass equipment and its operation.
- Expert knowledge of point loading.
- Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Frequent climbing, bending and twisting.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- One-year experience glass loading and securement.
- One-year Class a CDL driving experience hauling glass preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- Plant environment.
- Truck terminal.
