Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C., headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA & TX is currently seeking Survey Instrument Operators to perform field surveying and data collection tasks. These are field positions based out of our Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY & Canonsburg, PA offices. The selected candidate must be self-motivated and able to follow through with assignments, knowledgeable in the principles and performance of basic types of surveying equipment (Robotic Total Stations/GPS), survey computations, and field operations while maintaining client relationships.

The candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Set up and operate a variety of surveying instruments, including total station, data collector, level, scanner, and GPS in gathering survey data for topographic, boundary, ALTA, construction stakeout, and utility surveys.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
• Cutting and clearing brush and trees from line of survey, using brush hook, machete, chain saw or other cutting tools.
• Read and interpret various types of maps and plans.
• Complete neat field notes and sketches
• Assisting the Party Chief as directed.

• 1-3 years of surveying experience preferred.
• Experience with Pipeline work preferred.
• Experience in operating electronic survey instrumentation including total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors.
• Knowledge of basic mathematical principles, land surveying terminology, and field survey methods and techniques.
• Good work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Able to work in physically challenging outdoor situations in all types of weather.
• Traveling on a regular basis to project sites located throughout NY and PA.
• Must possess an active & valid Driver's License.
