Job Summary


Under immediate supervision the employee assists in performing daily and routine work in the test of construction materials (aggregate, bituminous) to ensure construction specifications are met or to provide information to design, maintenance, or research.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid Class D Driver’s License
  • Ability to operate a computer, printer and learn traffic-related programs (Jackalope, Windows Explorer, Microsoft Excel)
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Good writing and communication skills sufficient to interact positively with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals

Physical Requirements

An individual with a disability may be qualified to perform the function if an accommodation would enable this person to perform the job in a different way, and the accommodation does not impose an undue hardship.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work inside most of the time. At times, the employee will work outdoors. The employee will continually rotate through various body positions (standing, twisting, bending, sitting, kneeling) while operating equipment and performing various other tasks frequently and on a daily basis. The employee may operate motor vehicles and heavy equipment on and off the roadway using vision, hearing, and operating skills. The employee must be able to lift and carry samples and equipment weighing in the 20 to 50 lb. range on a regular basis.
