National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI)

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support The National Cancer Institute’s Experimental Immunology Branch.

The Laboratory Technician will:

• Perform experiments to investigate molecular mechanisms that control the development and function of the thymus, which produce self-protective and self-tolerant T cells.
• Collaborate with laboratory scientists and participate in the planning of experiments aimed at understanding the development and function of the thymus.
• Perform scientific programming and experimental design.
• Record and interpret experimental research data.
• Review and discuss experimental research results.
• Collaborate with scientists both within NCI and NIH.
• Provide training to personnel in the performance of specialized procedures, techniques, etc.
• Write and review documentation, including summaries, reports and presentations.
• Animal colony management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• B.S. in Biological Sciences
• Expertise in immunology or molecular biology experiments.
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills

Location:

The world famous “Building 10” on NIH’s main campus in Bethesda, MD

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
