Independent Record Pressing is a leading vinyl LP pressing operation, supporting the surge in demand for collectible high fidelity recorded music. JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Jacketing Lead reports to the Assembly Supervisor and leads and runs materials for the jacketing team of the overall assembly team. The Jacketing Lead is expected to get the Job Duties completed through their direct staff.

HOURS: 8 AM to 6:30PM Monday through Thursday

JOB DUTIES:

  • Consistently demonstrate reliability and adhere to IRP’s Attendance Policy
  • Supervise the work of jacketing line employees, conduct training, follow work orders as well as the assembly schedule, and assign tasks, when necessary
  • Develops, coaches, disciplines and maintains a team of highly motivated and skilled temporary and permanent labor in order to maintain daily quotas (200 LPs per hour per jacketer) and company objectives
  • Works with Assembly Supervisor to perform disciplinary documentation and coaching
  • Works with Assembly Supervisor, Sales & Label Manager, Inventory Manager & Operations Manager to prioritize and manage product jacketing stage of assembly to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are completed at a high level of quality and on time, as per the assembly schedule
  • Responsible for complying with all established safety and health regulations and monitoring shop operations to ensure that work is conducted in a safe manner
  • Ensure that production targets are met for jacketing team as a whole as well as each individual jacketer
  • Maintains a highly organized, neat and orderly department daily, which includes but is not limited to cleaning of the floor, emptying trash and recycling, making sure the whole jacketing team maintains clean workspaces, consolidating excess materials to return to the inventory team, etc.
  • Ensures that reporting is done in a timely (daily) and accurate manner, including monitoring and submitting the required metrics for each individual jacketer’s daily output to the Assembly Supervisor.
  • Consolidate excess materials and return it to the Inventory Team in a designated location at the end of each day
  • Recommends and works with the Assembly Supervisor and Operations Manager to implement changes that will improve quality and efficiency
  • Appoint a backup to the Assembly Supervisor and Operations Manager that will be responsible for Jacketing Lead duties in the event of main Jacketing Leads absence. Fully train the backup on how to handle all job duties listed
  • Other duties as required and assigned

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Analytical thinker able to identify areas of efficiency and improvement, then present and implement solutions.
  • Strong decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach and motivate personnel, while holding employees accountable for results.
  • Team Player that works well with others across all areas of the company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills able to provide work direction, communicate and build consensus with both support staff, as well as management.
  • Capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods of time and able to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Online Google Products (Sheets, Word, Drive, Gmail) & Slack
  • Ability to perform a key role in a dynamic multi-shift environment.
