Job Description



Position Purpose

Ensures material received is in accordance with specifications indicated on the Purchase Order, Work Order Authorization and packing slip or transportation documents. Inspects material to identify damage and verify quantity, completeness, type, size, and grade. Records and acts on material with discrepancies. Has a keen knowledge and understanding of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical parts (EEE), ESD requirements, and counterfeit parts avoidance measures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of Electrostatic Discharge Control practices and be able to successfully complete the required training and maintain ESD certification.
  • Maintains a good understanding of all phases of the operation to include but not limited to – receiving, inspections, warehousing, inventory control, kitting, and distribution of EEE parts.
  • Must be knowledgeable of processes used to identify and report counterfeit parts and act in accordance with internal procedures when suspect counterfeit parts are identified.
  • Uses a comprehensive knowledge and experience base to resolve complex problems while aiding Warehouse Personnel.
  • Good working knowledge of the various governing documents associated with working with EEE and project parts.
  • Receive material as required from vendors and processes appropriate documents and transactions within the AMMS and RITS systems.
  • Inspects material for defects, part number, serial number, quantity, date/lot code, and item description to ensure proper material is received. Performs visual inspection of material using a microscope or other instruments to magnify material components.
  • Performs X-ray fluorescent (XRF) screening of incoming materials to determine if prohibited materials are present.
  • Research documentation for appropriate data using electronic resources and related listings to assist in determining if the proper material was received. This includes the use of manufacturer’s websites to research materials, drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Validates that material received matches the packing slip and that both match the purchase order or on-line database description for each item received.
  • Documents discrepancies and coordinates the resolution of those discrepancies with appropriate Commodity Managers, Acquisition Specialists, and customers.
  • Processes inspection and acceptance transactions in the appropriate materials management system and provide hard copy receipts as required to initiate invoice payment.
  • Ensures that all required documentation, including Work Order Authorizations, Certificates of Conformance, AMMS Receipt Travelers, etc. is complete and filed in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Interacts with co-workers and other company personnel to expedite priority materials through the Inspection process to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy skills to include the use of the World Wide Web, operative skills regarding MS Office programs (Word and Excel) along with basic data entry/typing capabilities.
  • Maintains a safe working environment to eliminate the possibility of accidents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to include but not limited to relocating material, general housekeeping, etc.


Qualifications



Required Skills and Qualifications

  • The ability to stoop and bend and to lift boxes up to 70 pounds in weight.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Minimum of two years warehouse experience with a minimum of one year in the handling of sensitive electric, electronic, and electromechanical parts.
  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Must be certified or be able to successfully complete ESD training requirements provided by the employer.

  • The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment.
  • Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time.
