Position Title:

Industrial Maintenance Technician (Lvl 3)

Corrugated Box Manufacturing Facility


Pay Rate:

$28.94/hr

Hiring Bonus: $1000 after 30 days, (must meet attendance requirement). $500 after 6 Mths (must meet eligibility requirement), $500 after 1Yr (must meet eligibility requirement)


Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time (7AM-7PM, Wk 1 Monday, Wed, Thurs. Wk 2 Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun)

Orientation/Training Mon-Fri 7am-3pm (First Week)

The Job You Will Perform:


Job Summary:

This individual maintains tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components, welding and simple fabricating of items. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides proven skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing.

Specific Responsibilities / Required Skills:

  • Must Receive “Recommended” Result on both Technical and Non-Technical Test Battery
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes
  • Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Advises operators and lower level mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Informs appropriate management and lower level mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
  • Assists other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Assists and trains other maintenance and/or other technical level employees.
  • Performs other duties as required. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.

The Skills You Will Bring:

High school diploma or its equivalent required.

Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program

or

5 years experience working maintenance in a manufacturing background



Able to work in a fast paced environment

Recommended Status on GM Non-Technical and Technical Assessments
Read, Write, Speak English
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as, but not limited to, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and safety toe shoe
