Samaritan’s Purse is seeking an ICT Disaster Response Speciailst to join our IT team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You can be a part of a highly professional global Information Technology team. As an ICT Disaster Response Specialist you will be responsible for the innovation, development, readiness, maintenance, and deployment of Samaritan’s Purse (SP) disaster response ICT equipment. Also, The ICT (IT) team is responsible for deployment and support of the front-line communication and technology equipment that is needed during disaster responses to include Internet, Radios, Laptops, VSAT and more. You can use your experience with LAN/WAN, Wireless, P2P, Laptop/PC repairs, and Satellite technology in this position! This position requires frequent travel. A day in the life of an ICT Disaster Response Specialist:

In the role of ICT Disaster Response Specialist you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Design innovative technology strategies while working with some of the latest technology and communications options including Radios, and Internet Connectivity (i.e VSAT, Cellular, Fiber, WISP, DSL, Laptops, Networking, Wireless, Solar).
• Coordinate, with the International IT Global Services Manager, research, development, and testing of new and upcoming equipment.
• Train staff on the latest innovative disaster response communication technologies.
• Help identify and maintain a pre-positioned inventory of all disaster response-ready ICT equipment, appropriately staged and kitted per the ministry requirements and needs.
• Coordinate with necessary departments to ensure all disaster response ICT equipment and supplies are ready for immediate deployment.
• Serve as one of the primary ICT Disaster Response Specialists on disaster response deployments around the globe.
• Research and evaluate how other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) respond to disasters with technology and recommend solutions to the International IT Global Services Manager.
• Assist other ICT staff with field office visits and project work, including on-call support as assigned.
• Ensure that SP’s ICT disaster response is consistent with SP core Christian values, while maintaining a character that induces witnessing opportunities.
• Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan’s Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
• Attend daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.
• Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

• Four-year college or university program certificate and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough knowledge of electrical componentry, computing devices, networking and communication platforms
• Ability to configure/troubleshoot computing hardware and software, communication devices such as phones, satellite communication devices, and two-way radios
• Thorough knowledge VSAT, Cellular, Fiber, WISP, DSL, Laptops, Networking, Wireless, and Solar technology.
• Thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wireless, P2P, Laptop/PC repairs, and Satellite technology
• Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred
