Shaner Hotels is seeking a General Manager for the Residence Inn in Norwalk, Connecticut. Centrally located in downtown Norwalk, the Residence Inn Norwalk is the ideal place to stay and explore what the area has to offer. Their proximity to businesses like FactSet, Norwalk Hospital and area attractions such as the Maritime Aquarium. After a day of experiencing all that Norwalk has to offer, come home to the comfort of their apartment-inspired suites featuring full-size kitchens, complimentary Wi-Fi, Internet TV's, separate living areas and ergonomic workspaces. Located on property is a rooftop bar, serving light fare and drinks.
The ideal candidate will have successful management abilities in the hospitality industry. The general manager must be able to prioritize and organize work assignments, while providing clear direction to staff and ascertaining hotel training needs when necessary. It is imperative that the General Manager motivate associates and maintain a cohesive team while specializing in exceptional guest satisfaction. We are seeking a detail-oriented and capable manager who can confidently enforce the excellence of hotel standards, policies and procedures in accordance with Shaner and franchise (if applicable), as well as become a visible leader in the local community.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. A minimum of five years of progressive hospitality leadership experience is required. Excellent people management and problem resolution skills. Superior guest satisfaction skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality financials, reporting requirements and industry measurements. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Marriott experience and proven food and beverage experience a plus.
