Job Summary:

Will be responsible for providing assistance in performing histology laboratory testing; distributes slides; orders supplies; assists with preventive maintenance as assigned; assists with inventory and quality control as assigned; assists with maintenance of accurate manual and computer records for the tasks/procedures listed above; uses the Laboratory Information System; answers phone calls and inquiries; attends meetings and in-services as required. Will be trained and prepared to take the ASCP examination required to obtain licensure to practice as a Histotechnician in New York State.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Science or related field (biology/chemistry). Must meet minimum requirements to apply for a provisional permit to practice as a Histotechnician. Must obtain NYS Histotechnician license before expiration of the provisional permit. Ability to distinguish colors required

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Science or related field.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday 7:30am - 4:00 pm
