REMOTE ELIGIBILITY
This position is eligible to be performed in a remote hybrid arrangement and some on-site time will be needed. While project workloads may require more or less on a short-term basis, we estimate the need for approximately two weeks on-site every four weeks. The initial period of employment will require more on-site presence. Preference will be given to candidates living within a reasonable driving distance of Royal’s location in Minden, NE.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The PMO Manager is responsible for Royal’s ability to budget, manage and control complex development and production projects. He or she will direct all phases of the project management process from requirements analysis; budgeting; initial planning; scope management through delivery and contract close out. The PMO Manager will develop business systems that help control for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of Royal’s engineering and R&D project portfolio. The PMO manager is likely to have their own projects as well as monitoring projects delivered by others.
The PMO Manager may have a staff of Program Managers and/or Project Engineers to direct and manage as part of this role. Assisting with the selection, recruitment, training, assigning, scheduling, counseling and disciplining the staff is a responsibility of the PMO Manager. Communicating job expectations, planning and monitoring and reviewing job contributions along with providing written reviews with suggested compensation action is also part of this role.
- Ensure that all customer actions and requests are responded to in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
- Manage the customer experience through successful execution of new product projects.
- Direct all program phases from requirements analysis, risk assessment, and initial planning to delivery and contract close out.
- Establish and monitor adherence to project plans and schedules, identify problems, and develop solutions.
- Assist in generating cost and technical proposals ensuring that project scope, budget and schedule is accurately reflected back to the customer.
- Support continuous process improvement measures when they rise to the level of an internal research and development project.
- Coordinate with production and product development personnel to support fabrication of first articles.
- Leading, managing and departmental accountability.
SPECIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years in Project Management with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field
- Experience managing projects
- Demonstrated ability to build business processes that drive successful results
- Proven success serving as a strong change agent and leader
Preferred:
- Minimum of 5 years designing Project Management processes in complex environments
- PMP or related certification
- Experience leading and managing projects in aerospace
Desired:
- MBA or advanced education in engineering and business
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive experience leading project management efforts in the aerospace industry with a strong understanding of the complexities of the industry
