Job description
The main function of the host is to facilitate the prompt and accurate seating and service of all guests. Accept payment for food and beverage and make correct change. Be able to meet and greet guests in a friendly manner, making them feel welcome and comfortable in our dining room and have the ability to prioritize and maintain control with a smile as pressure arises.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to stand or walk for lengthy periods of time without sitting.
- Excellent communication skills.
Host team leader responsibilities:
- Warmly greet all guests upon arrival. Seat guests based on guest preferences and balance customer flow.
- Check tables for cleanliness, seat guests, and provide menus.
- Answer the telephone.
- Take to-go orders and pack them up.
- Keep a waitlist when tables are not available.
- Able to operate a cash register accurately, process credit card payments.
- Help bus, clean, and sanitize tables.
- Adhere to VOSHA Covid regulations.
- Relay messages to servers as needed.
- Cash handling experience.
- Prior experience closing out and balancing daily sales.
- Train and over see host(s) to ensure they are providing quality customer service.
- Maintain a clean dining room
