Job description

The Graphics Craftsperson will primarily be responsible for day-to-day printing and fabrication of graphic related work. The candidate will also be responsible for some light machine maintenance and communication with the sales team.

The most important attribute for the Graphics Craftsperson is the ability to work with their hands to a high degree of precision (Xacto knife, vinyl application, gluing, folding, taping, etc.). Jobs will occasionally include some amount of photoshopping and or design work, so a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator and general design concepts is also a requirement.

Because of the wide range of projects the shop takes on, strong problem-solving skills and a self-starting attitude is a must. The Graphics Craftsperson must be able to take on new or unfamiliar processes and figure out how to bring the project to completion. (one notable example for us was figuring out how to build a complex pinata!)

Essential Functions:

• Receive graphics requests from the sales team and fabricate them from beginning to end
• QC work to a high standard, and diagnose potential print issues as they arise
• Utilize material efficiently and effectively to reduce waste
• Work together with other Graphics team members to prioritize work effectively
• Think creatively about the best way to complete work, and rapidly iterate potential solutions

Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work with hands in various materials and processes
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines
• Compelling portfolio of work
• Ability to multitask and keep tabs on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work with and calibrate machines to perform routine maintenance/ diagnose and address problems that arise
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop required
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field is preferred

Proficiency: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, Google Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
