STRATA Networks is currently accepting applications for a GIS Analyst/Senior CAD Operator. This position ensures map and database integrity and provides assistance to engineers in preparing and posting projects. Acts as a resource in helping other departments have access to information in maps and records.

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare complex reports
• Provide Software Support and Training
• Implement Database Integrity Measures
• Prepare Cut Sheets
• Verify Records
• Records Posting
  • Updates M4 maps and records based on as-built drawings received from crews
  • Helps ensure maps and records are up to date with any changes in BLCs, FDAs, and other upgrades

• Provide occasional drafting support to multiple OSP Engineers. Typical assignments include:
  • Fiber-optic and copper-based projects (to the home, business, cell site, node, etc.), including staking sheets/construction drawings
  • Coordination with Engineers, Logistics, Construction, and Facilities groups on assigned projects
• Participate in aspects of strategic planning processes as assigned.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal government entities on projects as necessary (road construction projects, permits, mapping, etc.)
• Special drafting projects (State and Federal mapping obligations, internal drafting/mapping needs, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

• • Self-starter that demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement with the ability to convert that commitment to results. Demonstration of follow-through for assigned (and self-discovered) tasks.
  • Preferred to have a Certificate or Associate Degree in Drafting and/or Engineering or equivalent work experience in a related field. Experience with AutoCAD, Google Earth, and GIS platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with telecommunications and/or related utilities is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong and effective English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstration of the ability to learn new skills.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels internally, with customers, and with suppliers. Ability to set objectives, drive results, and be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to learn new software systems (specifically drafting, mapping, and GIS platforms).

Working Conditions:

This job will be based in the office and may occasionally require field visits.
