Location: We are seeking a Host/Hostess for the Prelude + Post located in the heart of the Denver Performing Arts Complex in downtown Denver, Colorado.

Venue Description: The Prelude + Post offers customers a fine dining, Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group experience. This chic, modern venue, centrally-located within the Denver Performing Arts Complex, is a popular gathering place for theater attendees and downtown diners alike.

Principal Function
The Front of House Supervisor schedules reservations, assigns guests to tables suitable for the size of each group, escorts them to their seats and provide them with menus. The Host/Hostess inspects dining and serving areas to ensure proper setup and cleanliness and may assist customers by answering questions and by planning special events such as parties and banquets. They may further assist by handling monetary transactions, and are responsible for maintaining Sodexo’s standards for guest service, cleanliness and sanitation at all times. The Hosts/Hostess serves an important role in establishing a pleasant dining experience for guests of Sodexo’s free standing or in-venue restaurants.

The Front of House Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that hosts/hostesses are performing their job duties as expected, and making sure communication between kitchen and front of house staff is consistent.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding service to all customers of the 4 Star Sodexo Live! and Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group restaurant
  • Contribute to Sodexo’s goal of 100% guest satisfaction through teamwork and personal commitment.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures for processing customer sales transactions are adhered to.
  • Ensure that quality and safety standards are maintained.

Qualifications/Skills
Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate and greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and lead them to their dining area.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to utilize a calculator, change counters and manually count and accurately make change for transactions involving large sums of money.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
  • Technology aptitude for working with POS and digital register.
  • Strong skills for providing guest service with keen ability to connect easily with customers.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Preferred:

  • TIPS or TEAM certification, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.

Other requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 30 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours are often extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
