We are seeking an exceptional individual to serve as an Accounting Associate within Maestro’s Family Office Division. The Accounting Associate is a key member of each of our relationship teams and is responsible for the day-to-day management/administration of the financial affairs for multiple engagements. The role requires solid bookkeeping/accounting skills, along with strong communication skills needed to interact directly with family members and their advisors. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into multiple roles within the Company

The position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a diversified background to assume the responsibility of bespoke Family Office service and directly assisting the Relationship Managers with all aspects of the overall engagement.

Responsibilities:

The Accounting Associate will work with the other members of the relationship teams to ensure the following tasks are completed:

  • Processing of all family payables (bookkeeping / AP) in accordance with the engagement protocols
  • Tracking and maintaining detailed information related to all family assets (cash, investments, business interests, real estate, physical assets, etc.).
  • Preparation of standardized reporting package (monthly/quarterly)
  • Daily monitoring of cash accounts
  • Monitoring, reporting and reconciliation of all credit card activity for families, their businesses and employees
  • Tracking and managing all tax-related information and distribution to third party tax accounting team
  • Facilitation of all quarterly / annual tax payments and returns
  • Preparation of account paperwork for new banking and investment accounts
  • Coordination of capital calls for private equity investments
  • Tracking of all portfolio distributions in internal reporting platform
  • Transmission of critical data to third party advisors
  • Administration of trusts, foundations and small closely held business entities (partnerships, LLCs, etc.)
  • Tracking international travel in order to notify credit cards of travel status
  • Processing payroll for operating entities and/or household staff
  • Creation of 1099s for vendors
  • Maintenance and upkeep of internal engagement vault and data management system

Skills and Experience for Success:

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and their advisors
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable and cash management skills
  • Critical and strategic thinker who thrives in a quick pace, ever changing, complex environment
  • Experience with financial software such as Sage, QuickBooks/QuickBooks Online, REACH Reporting, Rockit, Archway, Crystal Reports, and Office 365
  • Exceptional communication, writing and listening skills
  • Team player with a high EQ willing to “roll up their sleeves to do what it takes”
  • Ability to understand multi-family services and the complexity of high net worth individuals, their needs and concerns

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate for the position must be willing to learn new concepts and ideas. They must be a hard worker who can anticipate the needs of high-net-worth individuals and be comfortable sharing unique ideas and concepts.
  • The ideal experience will include:
    • 4+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience within the single/multi-family office, accounting, corporate, or wealth management industry
    • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred

Location:

The position will be based in one of Maestro’s offices: Stamford, CT, Bryn Mawr, PA, Boston, MA or Salt Lake City, UT with minimal travel required.
