Performs manual and routine duties in food service and/or kitchen areas. Responsible for the preparation and replenishment of food, and for custodial duties of the dining and kitchen areas. Duties are performed under close supervision and are reviewed while in progress or upon completion. Ability to perform physically demanding activity including lifting, walking, and stooping.

Completion of eighth grade plus one year experience. Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.

Major/Essential Functions
- Take and record the temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
- Exhibits the ability to clean and sanitize with thoroughness and consistency, to achieve an acceptable level of sanitation while performing custodial duties in the kitchen and food prep areas.
- Understands and carries out oral instructions.
- Exhibits the ability to work as a team member.
- Arrive at work on time when scheduled.
- Customer service when needed during operational times.
- Exhibits the ability to perform routine tasks consistently.
- Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
- Attends training sessions as directed.
- Supervise, if assigned by immediate supervisor, and participate in kitchen and dining area activities.
- Exhibits the ability to be thorough and safely operate heavy machinery without supervision. Also be able to clean said equipment.
