Job description

We are seeking a part-time Floral Shop Assistant to join our small floral shop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new sales and developing new business opportunities for the shop, as well as assisting the floral shop owner/designer with daily operations. This role requires a strong passion for floral arrangements and customer service, as well as an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients and increase sales revenue
• Identify potential business opportunities through research and outreach efforts
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide customized solutions
• Assist with designing, creating and arranging floral arrangements for customers
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
• Keep the shop organized and tidy
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with restocking supplies as needed
• Assist with daily operations including opening/closing the shop, answering phone calls, processing orders, and scheduling deliveries
• Collaborate with the floral shop owner/designer on special projects and events as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in retail sales or customer service preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of floral design and arranging preferred
• Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds

Experience:

• Retail sales: 2 years (Preferred)
• Merchandising: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
