Position Overview
SPC Finishing Technician II
POSITION PURPOSE: Operate and troubleshoot the finishing line during startup, normal operation, and shut down. All tasks and duties are to be performed safely, while continuing efforts to maximize performance measures of the equipment and process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Operate equipment and make machine/process adjustments for optimized production of SPC products in the Finishing line.
  • Monitor key equipment parameters and record data as applicable. The Finishing Operator Technician I will use key equipment parameters to make adjustments to the process for optimized results.
  • Continually inspect key product characteristics at designated frequencies to ensure A grade acceptability.
  • Read, analyze, interpret, and react to charts and graphs while performing step
  • Perform physical line walks at designated intervals to monitor/inspect for product quality, equipment reliability, and general housekeeping.
  • Utilize the work order entry system to enter and/or complete safety, conditional, and reactive work orders/requests.
  • Perform reactive, scheduled, preventative, and predictive maintenance as required.
  • Assist in developing and updating equipment operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Operate crane for chemistry usage and manage the chemical tank farm, including its contents.
  • Direct LTO’s for input and output flow.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to leadership decision making on new product and equipment trials
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Participate in improvement teams.
  • Operate successfully in a team environment.
  • Train new SPC Finishing Operator-Technicians
  • Actively seek means to increase technical competency
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Basic reading, writing, and math ability
  • Must be capable of learning and performing additional operations
  • Must be capable of being trained on current computer systems and software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and stoop several times a day.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 – 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs several times throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day.
  • Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements.
  • Must be able to visualize defects in the product.
  • Must be able to visualize color defects in the product.

Work Shift
8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to out-punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts PM
